Tuscaloosa AL, (FP) The University of Alabama has purchased two Asian elephants from The Rangler Brothers Circus, to be part of the Crimson Tide’s game day festivities, according to a report.
Both elephants are highly trained and happy. They will be on the sidelines un-caged during all Bama home games. The elephants who are ironically named Rip and Tide are actual blood cousins. Rip is 26 years old with Tide being 28.
Discussions are underway to change the legal name of Rip to Roll but that decision has yet to be made official.
The two 8,000 pound animals will have a game crew of twenty handlers each. They’ll both be kept at the new Elephant World theme Park during the week and throughout the off season.
