This new OT rule is horrible but Vanderbilt will love it

Nashville, TN (FP)- A new SEC Football overtime rule being proposed by the Academic Excellence Foundation would benefit Vanderbilt experts say.

The rule being proposed is to help promote academics for student athletes while also helping football programs on the field said Cindy Garcia, Vice President of the Foundation. The new rule states that if a game between two SEC teams heads to overtime, the team with the highest Academic Rating will have their choice of ball possession along with their first possession on the 15 yard line as opposed to the 25.

Vanderbilt has consistently had the highest Academic Rating of any SEC Football program. Several SEC West Athletic Directors plan to protest the rule and will go as far as an actual march on the Commissioner’s office if necessary one report said.
