Tuscaloosa, ALA – Nick Saban has been the fastest Coach in College Football with an average 40 yard dash time of 4.6 over the past seven years. The big question now, will Saban remain on the top of the list after his hip surgery? One Orthopedic Surgeon says yes and it would not surprise him if Saban’s 40 time increases once he is 100% healed.
Doctor Herbert Fonzarelli of the Delvecchio Institute in Milwaukee says ” Coach Saban could actually increase his speed now that his hip has been repaired. Running with the kind of pain he had certainly hampered his ability. Once he is back to 100% mobility, it would not surprise me to see Coach Saban run somewhere in the 4.4-4.5 range” There is no timetable set yet as to when Saban will be timed but sources close to the program said they feel that the coach would like to run his annual 40 yard dash sometime before Alabama’s Bowl game which would most likely put the run in December. The second fastest 40 time among active coaches is 8.8 which was run by Mack Brown last month.
