Baton Rouge- Now that the season is over several LSU representatives have revealed what exactly took place in the locker room at Halftime of the LSU-UCF Fiesta Bowl game. The Tigers lead the game 24-21 however the team made it to the midway point bruised and beat up.
LSU Quarterback Joe Burrow was blindsided in the second quarter by a UCF defensive lineman after throwing an interception. Burrow entered the locker room with a bloody jaw from the vicious hit.
Halftime adjustments were made, high spirited Coach O talk went on as usual during the break. Just seconds before the team returned to the field for the second half, Coach O had the entire team get close together in the locker room” an LSU spokesman said. Orgeron then stood up on a chair and sang the song “You Are My Sunshine” to Burrow”
There was not a dry eye in the locker room as Coach O delivered an amazing performance of the song” the spokesman added. The song was written by former Louisianan Governor Jimmy Davis in 1939.
LSU went on to win the game 40-32, snapping UCF’s 25 game winning streak. Joe Burrow was named the Fiesta Bowl MVP.
