Nick Saban considered having only one Assistant Coach for 2019

Tuscaloosa, Ala.- A report came out late Sunday that Alabama Coach Nick Saban was preparing to coach the 2019 season with just one assistant coach. The report said coach Saban was so frustrated with the many coaching departures that he was was taking necessary steps for him to be the Offensive Coordinator, Defensive Coordinator as well as Head Coach.

The report went on to say that Saban planned to name veteran players as on-field position player-coaches while the lone assistant coach would handle special teams. “If any coach could ever succeed at this revolutionary idea with only one assistant and players as on field coaches, it would certainly be Nick Saban”said Sam Olivehead of Coaching Carousel Magazine. “Nick is the best coach to ever coach the game in my opinion and if he wanted to coach Alabama basically all by himself, I’m confident he could have done it and won another title in doing so”. Saban had a change of heart in early February and began replacing the departed assistant coaches. The report said that the lone coach that Saban was planning to have as his only assistant would have been Butch Jones.
