Knoxville- A Tennessee Volunteer backup lineman told a close friend recently that he was extremely nervous when he noticed the pilot of the team’s chartered flight, yawn as the team was boarding the plane. The flight the player is referring to was a non-stop 63 minute flight from Knoxville to Athens for the Tennessee-Georgia game which took place on September 29.
The Jr. lineman told the friend that while he was boarding the plane he peeked into the cockpit as he walked past the flight crew. That’s when he noticed the Captain of the flight yawning. He went on to tell his friend that the yawn caused severe anxiety and a slight stomach ache for the entire flight until it landed safely in Athens. Georgia went on to win the game 38-12.
